...Concept or coincidence? Maybe a little of both?

Here's what Kurt has to say about the making of the album:

"There was no real reason that we picked the tunes on the album that would pertain to the cover. They just happened to be tunes that we enjoyed playing. 'Two Sides Of The Trilogy' was just a name that Ike and I came up with... we were just regular folks that lived in Pompano Beach and did have 'two sides'... one was performing and the other was just having fun on the beach."

Hearing Kurt's explanation... that works too!!! It just goes to show that listener's experience always has been and always will be subjective. This is true of virtually any artistic creation... intention and interpretation can be two completely different things, and in the case of "Two Sides", both of them wonderful.

It's certainly no coincidence that the band made a great record, considering their musical histories and the people they worked and played with throughout their lives. Read "The Band" and the "The Scene" sections for interesting details and great stories about the band and their lives.
